Our Veterinarians

Amanda Jarnot, BSC/BVMS

Dr. Jarnot's Bio

Dr. Amanda Jarnot (formerly Dr. James) is a Medical Director at Canandaigua Veterinary Hospital. Originally from Cicero, NY, she graduated from Murdoch University in Perth, Australia with her BSc/BVMS in 2016.

Prior to attending veterinary school, Dr. James graduated from Medaille College with a bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology in 2011. Her professional interests include surgery and small animal medicine.

In her free time, she enjoys CrossFit and spending time with her dog. Dr. Jarnot is also passionate about football, as she was raised a New England Patriots fan.

Allison Biedrzycki, DVM

Dr. Biedrzycki's Bio
Dr. Biedrzycki grew up in Livonia, NY. She attended SUNY Geneseo, where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University and was named valedictorian of her graduating class.

While in veterinary school, she completed externships at Perry Veterinary Clinic, People for Animals, and Cornell University Veterinary Specialists. Dr. Tuchrello’s professional interests include dentistry and surgery.

She enjoys horseback riding, boating on the Finger Lakes, running, and playing video games in her free time.

Caroline DiCarlo, DVM

Dr. DiCarlo's Bio

Dr. DiCarlo was born and raised in Ohio. She completed a Medical and Surgical Internship at The Ohio State University. Dr. DiCarlo has been employed in the animal care industry for 17 years and has worked with MVA as a full-time veterinarian since 2008. She enjoys working at our hospital since all the vets share a genuine enthusiasm for compassionate and high-quality care. There is a feeling of camaraderie amongst her coworkers despite the challenges and changes of the past year. They have so many different personality types that can make work fun.

In her free time, Dr. DiCarlo plays the banjo, designs and bakes cakes for special events, and does LEGO projects with her son. She is an Adult Fan of LEGO (AFOL) and a member of the Spinone Club of America. At home, she enjoys her time with her husband Bob (who is a dairy farmer), 2 kids Nora and Ian, Jarvis (a Spinone Italiano), and 3 cats Captain, Tony, and BC.

Amanda Rockcastle, DVM

Dr. Rockcastle's Bio
Dr. Rockcastle was born and raised in Canandaigua. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Lincoln Memorial University with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. She is also certified in animal-assisted therapy. Before attending vet school, Amanda used to work as an ACA at our hospital, and now she is working as a full-time DVM since June 2021. She loves connecting with people over the human-animal bond and seeing familiar faces from the community.

Dr. Rockcastle is married and has a 2-year-old little boy named Milo. She has 3 dogs named Murdoc, Homer, and Lucy, 3 cats named Bob, Peter, and Thomas, and a horse named Tiger. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, seeing live music, hiking, and exploring breweries/wineries.

Michael Taylor

Michael's Bio

Licensed Veterinary Technician & Animal Care Assistant Supervisor

Michael is the supervisor of the licensed veterinary technicians and the animal care assistants at Canandaigua Veterinary Hospital, where he’s worked since 2008. Before he began his career in the animal care industry, he received his associate’s degree in veterinary technology from SUNY Alfred State College.

He enjoys working at Canandaigua Veterinary Hospital because of the family-oriented and professional atmosphere, as well as the vast knowledge and experience all of the employees have to offer.

Michael has three dogs and three cats. In his free time, he enjoys hiking with his dogs, hunting, fishing, working on cars, and DIY projects. One day, he aspires to own a ’56 or ’57 Chevy Belair and/or a ’67 Pontiac.

Sharon Clark

Sharon's Bio

Client Services Supervisor

Sharon Clark is our client services supervisor and has been a member of the Canandaigua Veterinary Hospital team since 2006. She was born in Clifton Springs and grew up in Seneca Castle, NY.

Sharon enjoys meeting the clients and pets that come into the hospital each day, and she loves the passion that the entire team here at Canandaigua Veterinary Hospital shows towards patients and clients on a daily basis.

Sharon’s family lives and works on a small farm filled with animals. These animals include 12 goats, 12 chickens, four ducks, two cats, one dog, and two horses. In her free time, she enjoys camping, hiking, and spending time with her husband of 28 years. Sharon also enjoys spending time with her three sons, her daughter-in-law, and her grandchildren.
